2021 Has been an interesting year – below are my professional highlights of the past 12 months.
January:
I started the year by being Mis-quoted in the Daily Mail in my attempt to defend teachers from the media nonsense around virtual learning.
May:
August:
- My first published work in an academic journal was a book review of: Identity, Culture and Belonging: Educating Young Children for a Changing World in British Journal of Educational Studies
September:
- Started in my new role as Lead Teacher at Educational Diversity PRU in Blackpool. An amazing job which gets better as time has progressed.
November:
- Delivered a workshop at IncludEd on my views of inclusive practice since moving into alternative provision
- Took part in a panel discussion at the Schools and Academies Show. Which was at the NEC in Birmingham on parental participation in education
December:
- My first full research paper titled: An analysis of the common characteristics of intervention strategies used in secondary education published in Educationalfutures. It is a great achievement to get research published in a journal. It was definitely missing some of the punchier social justice elements found in the full dissertation for my Masters degree but still cool.
